An Introduction To Hammers And Nails

What child doesn’t love to crash and bash! Here’s a perfect activity to introduce them to a hammer and nails. It was loved by this 4 year old and his 7 year old sister.

Things we used

Hammer

Screwdriver

Screws

Nails

An old tree stump

Elastic bands

We got to grips with learning the difference between a hammer and a screwdriver then set about screwing the nails into the wood.

Then we hammered in the nails.

Once finished, we then used our elastic bands to stretch across the screws and nails making a spiders web pattern.

A simple activity that was fun, hands on and a test of growing fine motor skills.
