The Window View Fine Dining Afternoon Tea Experience

Fine Dining Afternoon Tea Experience

With the renovation works well underway at Holly House we decided that we wanted to make some memories within the empty space before the build of the pod shortly begins…

Having begun the process of removing the pews we have found ourselves with some lovely areas to sit in; all be it a building site.

So with the help of some big comfy chairs we had rescued that had been dumped on the streets, we decided to make an effort to turn a beautiful spot beneath our future kitchen window into a fine dining afternoon tea area.

So I started on a mission to gather things from around the house to scene set.

I incorporated some of the bibles that had been left in the church and made a cake display stand.

I also used a section of the aisle/altar carpet to lay beneath our table.

There had also been an abundance of flower vases left in a cupboard in the church which were previously used for flower festival, weddings etc. I filled these with fake flowers.

Finally, I dressed the table with some afternoon treats. The fine dining experience was for the 14-year-old and her friend so I went with a sweetie them. And I was super pleased to pick up a reduced cake for £3 at the supermarket!

Along with the vases I also found some china plates left in a cupboard and these were ideal to use.

I made up some simple labels to go on the treat bags which I filled with sweets.

And I used some fresh flowers to make things extra special.

And I made another sign so the girls knew what to expect.

And The Window View Cafe was open for its first guests! So within the chaos of our existing works we now have our very own beautiful spot to sit, drink tea and contemplate the jobs around us. And to admire the beautiful building that is slowly transforming into our forever home.
