The View From Holly House

Today I made it to the top of the Holly House bell tower to finally admire the view. And it was not a disappointment…

I have previously tried to scale the tower but nerves have beaten me. But today I took a bucket load of determination with me and was rather proud of myself.

Holly House tower was built in the 12th century and is a very admirable piece of work.

The tower is the highest point in the town so boasts of 360 views. On a clear day, you can see for miles.

Today you could see the Preseli Mountains basking in the sunshine in the distance. The Preseli Mountains are where the stones that formed Stonehenge came from. (My iPhone photos don’t do the view justice but I was too nervous to get my camera out!)

I can’t wait to become more confident and be able to pop up to take in a breathtaking sunrise or sunset…
