We were invited to try out the St Davids Lodge accommodation at Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire. It’s become a firm favourite place for us to holiday with the family so we gladly accepted.
We were given the lodge on a complimentary basis in exchange for an honest review so we jumped at the offer. And as Bluestone is a place that we often visit for some downtime with the kids it was a no brainer. The St Davids lodge is ideal for those holidaying at Bluestone with toddlers.
Bluestone is the home of free-range fun and it’s not hard to see why. With lodges situated around a lake that is a haven for wildlife.
So here’s a look around…
The St David’s Lodge sleeps 8 people. There’s 1 double room, 3 twin bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large open plan living area and even a playroom!
For your self-catering break, there’s a fully functioning kitchen that’s like a home away from home providing all the kitchen bits you need: a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker, microwave and more than enough cutlery, plates etc to keep you going.
The worksurfaces are ample and perfect for larger families. We made full use of the size of the kitchen and arranged a very special celebratory holiday breakfast.
The table was a great focus and hub of the lodge. And the kids loved making holiday dens under it!
There were two bathrooms and one shower room which was ideal for the whole family.
Take a peek at the fun we had in the bathroom!
The bedrooms were light and spacious with a warm feel. There’s plenty of extra bedding if needed and the fab addition of blackout curtains which was very handy with the children’s bedtime. In the summer months, you’ll be able to get the children to turn in before the sun sets. Perfect.
The downstairs was a good and well functioning open space. It was pleasing to have hardwood floors and leather sofas which were easy to maintain and clean with the children. It was less of a worry that the kids were going to trash the place.
The St. David’s Lodge is perfect for larger families or groups of friends holidaying together. It had a spacious, airy and modern feel throughout. And although it was open-plan with very high ceilings, it was well-insulated with a good heating system. It really is a beautiful lodge to stay in.
It’s fair to say we loved every aspect of the St David’s Lodge.
Would we stay again? ABSOLUTELY!
