I decided I wanted the girls to discover a message in a bottle at the beach, but, with a love for all things magically fairy I decided that our message would be from the ocean fairies and would include some very special ocean wish stones for the girls to cast out their wishes over the waves…
Our fairy adventure took place at Barafundle beach, west Wales.
Here’s what I did…
First I set about making our message, I dampened a cloth and brushed it with blue pen which I then smoothed over a piece of paper. Once dry I ripped around the edged before adding some undersea decoration with a marker pen.
Next I wrote our letter from the ocean fairies before spraying with hairspray & dusting with glitter…
I then found a suitable bottle (it was a salad dressing bottle) I washed and dried it and then sprayed the inside with hair spray before adding glitter and shaking vigorously..
I then set about making the ‘ocean wish stones’. For these I simply used a sharpie marker pen to decorate teeny pebbles that would fit into our bottle..
I dropped the wish stones in and put our message into the bottle and sealed..
Then with the bottle secretly stuffed into my bag we headed to the beach…
Whilst the girls played at the waters edge I discreetly half buried our bottle & left it to be stumbled upon..
Eden was the first to spot it..
And closely followed by Mila we gathered around to open it..
We read all about the ocean wish stones! So headed to the shore to cast off our wishes..
We didn’t use all our wishes though…
Mila took one home to treasure forever…
