Masking Tape Roads
The children love to play on the floor with their box of cars and it’s a perfect activity for a rainy day.
I decided to elaborate on the fun with an easy, cheap and mess-free addition of making some masking tape roads!
Masking tape can be purchased from pound stores and hardware shops and is a very versatile addition to imaginative play for children.
I simply set the tape up around the room: on the floor and over the tables and chairs. The masking tape peels off easily without leaving any residue so is a great addition to play. I made some road markings on the tape using a permanent marker pen.
The tape stayed on the floor for the most part of the day as the children went back and forth to it playing with their cars…

It really was simple and effective fun and it kept the children entertained and on the move. And best of all it was an easy clean up that left no mess!
