Gruffalo Themed Day
We love The Gruffalo! So we decided to have our own Gruffalo themed day.
We set about scene setting our story which would end in a sumptuous Gruffalo tea to reflect the story. Here’s how we did it…
We started with breakfast. The mouse found a nut and the nut was good.
After breakfast, we set about making the deep dark wood.
We made some Stickmen place settings for our dinner table.
I added a label to a tin of stewed fruit ready for the kids to make Gruffalo crumble.
We washed out some bottles and made labels to serve our drinks in.
We painted hedgehog rocks to scene set the table.
And a log pile house with buttercream icing and chocolate logs.
Our roasted fox was a simple chicken casserole. We made a cardboard surround cover for the casserole dish.
Finally, we were ready to scene set our table and put together our meal.
We had a fab Gruffalo feast! We spent the day doing Gruffalo activities, colouring and word searches and finished the day watching the DVD. The re-creation of our favourite book was a yummy and fun success!
