Finding Rudolph’s Dropped Antler

CHOCOLATE COIN HUNT, XMAS HOUSE
& FINDING MAGICAL CHRISTMAS REINDEER ANTLER
Did you know that Christmas reindeer shed their antlers? It’s a natural process and if you are really lucky you will stumble across them once they have dropped. But even more elusive are the learning antlers that Christmas sleigh-pulling reindeer shed at the end of their magical flight training to make way for their Christmas Eve delivery flight. These are almost as elusive as Father Christmas himself…
We heading into the woods with hot chocolate and our gingerbread house for a winter picnic and a chocolate coin hunt. But imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon some Christmas reindeer antlers dropped whilst sleigh reindeers practiced!
**PLEASE NOTE, it is an annual natural process for reindeer to drop/shed their antlers, they re-grow each year. Ironically this usually happens late December. My children are aware of this natural process.**
While no one was looking I placed our Christmas reindeer antler in the woods, naturally shed from a flying reindeer in training preparing for Christmas night.
I placed the chocolate coins in almost hidden locations for the children to find.
The kids made a gingerbread house which Mr FD secretly bought to the woods and placed in a tree when the kids were hunting for coins.
The kids searched the woods for the coins.
Everyone found some.
We counted up our chocolate coin loot.
And everyone dug in.
And then Noah discovered the gingerbread house which we’d made at home! As if by magic it appeared in a tree!
So we dug into our gingerbread house and as we were leaving we stumbled upon a magical sparkly reindeer antler!
It was from a Christmas sleigh-pulling reindeer! How magical is that! We already knew that reindeer shed their antlers in the winter months but we never ever expected to find an antler from a Christmas reindeer! It was a fabulous find that we’ll always remember.
