We spent some time really appreciating the colours of the trees in the garden as next year we won’t be here to see them.
We planted this tree when we moved into the house 20 years ago and it was only around 6 inches tall.
We used a torch and magnifying glass to look at the leaves.
It was a simple set up and gave the kids an opportunity to head out into the garden to collect some of the beautiful coloured leaves that autumn has brought with it.

The kids got really up close with the torch looking at the intricate designs inside of the leaves. It was pretty amazing.
Autumn is our favourite time of year and nature has so much on offer to explore.
It was such a simple idea that kept the kids intrigued and busy for a quite some time.
