Bringing Kids Drawings To Life

Today we decided to head out to blow the cobwebs away after being mostly in over the Christmas period. The children wanted to go to the beach so with rain clouds looming we pulled on our waterproofs and headed for the coast. The children had spent the morning drawing pictures so we thought it would be a lovely idea to take those drawings with us and try and bring them to life in the sand.
We simply took a rake along with us to make marks… and here are our results.
Noah drew a fabulous dinosaur…
We found a smooth wet piece of sand and copied the drawing using the rake as our pencil.
And it turned just grand. He got down on the sand and immersed himself into his very own prehistoric picture straight from his own imagination.
Unicorn mad Arabella, 3, drew a unicorn.
Again we raked the sand to bring it to life!
And she too lay down next to the magical unicorn embraced from her imagination.
Mila, 10, spent her time drawing Japanese anime girls, and she chose one to recreate.
It turned out fabulous!
We used a drone to take photos of our work but this could also be achieved by standing on a pier or somewhere higher than the sand.

The beach is such a great place to have beach fun!
By the way, have you noticed how often kid’s drawing have extra detail that could be somewhat questionable? We’ve been laughing loads at the wonderful submissions from our Facebook community of When Kids Drawings Go Wrong. Honestly, we’ll be amazing if you’re not crying with laughter too.
