Creating A Fairy Kingdom In The Bluebell Wood

Creating A Fairy Kingdom In The Bluebell Wood

We love to visit the woods in Bluebell season, the carpets are always magically stunning. So this year we decided to add our own little bit of magic and create a fairy kingdom for the Bluebell season.

We used natural materials to make our doors and some signs to remind people not to crush the Bluebells, then we headed to our favourite spot to set up our doors. We used a single nail to hang our sign and attached our doors by bashing them into the ground… We shall return in a few weeks to remove them.

There’s always a fab chance of crossing paths with wild boar in the Bluebell woods (as we did here) too..if this happens then never approach them, be quiet and let them amble on past.

If you are lucky you may just spot the odd fairy or two 🙂

*Details of the location of our fairy kingdom are below)

The location of our visit was Bream Road in Lydney (B4231) as marked in the photo below. Heading from Tesco in Lydney we parked in a lay-by on the right hand side of the road approx 1.5 miles along Bream road. The bluebells are visible from the road and the best time to view the bluebell carpets is the first two weeks of May.
